PSM x GiO
Monday, November 22, 2010 at 4:25AM It was June when Apogee sent me the GiO.
At the time I wasn't entirely sure of how I was going to implement it into my set up, all I knew was that it would be a great feature as it could add a lot more functionality and ease of useabilty to my Apple MainStage set up.
After playing with The GiO and experimenting more and more, I really got into creating 4 bar loops based on vocal riffs and patterns. This was supported by MainStage's Looper plug in which was super easy to set up.
The outcome of my months of looping was a beautifully shot Autumn experience in the woods..
A collaboration with my creative partner Rohan Blair-Mangat which features my GiO, MacBook Pro and a mini generator. For a full write up see: The PSM Looping with the Apogee GiO
And a massive thank you to my friends at Apogee Electronics for featuring me on their main webpage! x

That was a fine, well made video Paul. It's interesting to see you use looping pedals for percussion, it will be interesting to see how you develop using it in the future.
I've been following a guy named Sxip Shirey on YouTube. He uses looping pedals and all kinds of effects pedals with his music. He doesn't use drums but he performs a lot with a human beatbox.
He uses harmonicas, whistles, voice, toy music boxes, marbles in a bowl, virtually anything. Here's a link to his YouTube song "Moon in her Belly", if you are curious. A bit like what you did in your video outside the art centre with the freestyle harmonica.
His other videos are well worth watching. He really is on the cutting edge, bordering insanity but very entertaining to watch.
Another is "Son of Dave". He uses Bluesharp and looping pedals too.
It will be interesting to see how these developments in music progress and make music even richer in the years to come.
i was originally inspired after a really special friend showed me Liam Finn x, check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAwUE50WmkQ
